Flyfishing captivated me from the very beginning. The art of tying flies, scientific inquiry in the nature of fish habitats, the vast body of literature and the poetic athleticism of casting a fly line all combine to make it like no other pursuit. Additionally, I have found few circles of friends as inviting as the fraternity of angling friendships I have acquired over the years. During the past two decades, I have been privileged to travel around the western United States and Michigan teaching fly fishing schools, casting clinics, and fly tying seminars. This site is as an extension of that effort and at the same time my celebration of the sport.
For Angling may be said to be so like the Mathematicks, that it can never be fully learnt; at
least not so fully, but that there will still be more experiments left for the trial of other
men that succeed us.
